The Summit on Sustainability & the Environment is MORPC's signature environmental conference, bringing hundreds of community leaders together to explore and share sustainable ideas and solutions. This year's theme, Building a Sustainable Future, focuses on sharing best practices that can be applied by local governments, businesses and residents to improve the built environment in which we live.

MORPC is pleased to announce Craig W. Butler, Director of the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will deliver this year's keynote address.

Butler was appointed Director of Ohio EPA by the Governor on February 21, 2014. He previously served as the Assistant Policy Director for Energy, Agriculture and the Environment in Governor Kasich’s administration. A public servant of more than 24 years, he served as District Chief of both Ohio EPA’s Central District Office and its Southeast District Office. He is a board member of the Dangerous Wild Animal Board and is a past member of the Board of Directors for the Ohio Alliance for the Environment.

The lunch program will also feature a series of Tedx talks by local Tedx speakers Michael Bongiorno, Jess Mathews and Dax Blake. Throughout the day, four concurrent breakout sessions will be offered focusing on the areas of active transportation, water quality, energy, materials management, local food and air quality.

Join the conversation and learn how we can create a more sustainable future. Early bird registration ends September 12.
