Join us at Riverfest on Saturday

June 6, 2016

With the warm weather season upon us, it’s once again time to celebrate Central Ohio’s water resources with Riverfest!

Join us in Downtown Columbus from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on June 11 for canoeing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, and boat watching along the Scioto River.

This year’s celebration is taking place in conjunction with the Columbus Arts Festival and offers a great opportunity to learn about the important role waterways play in the region.

Bring your family and friends and spend Saturday afternoon with us out on the water. Join us on Sunday to watch a decorated boat float or transform your self-powered watercraft into a work of art by joining us for the inaugural MORPC Columbus Arts Festival Boat Show.

“These activities demonstrate how water can be fun, while emphasizing the importance of preserving this essential resource,” said Kerstin Carr, MORPC Director of Planning & Environment.  “As summer quickly approaches, Riverfest is a great way to take the time to get outdoors and learn to enjoy and respect our waterways.”

People of all incomes and ages are invited, and we hope you’ll develop a lifelong appreciation of our waterways.
