January 4, 2016

MORPC is  accepting nominations for the Regional Leadership Award, the William C. Habig Collaborative Achievement Award, and the William H. Anderson Award . The awards will be presented at the State of the Region Luncheon on May 6, 2016. Nominations must be received by Friday, January 15, 2016.

The Regional Leadership Award recognizes individuals in MORPC’s 15-county region (Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Hocking, Knox, Licking, Logan, Madison, Marion, Morrow, Perry, Pickaway, Ross and Union Counties) who make extraordinary efforts to ensure the future viability of Central Ohio and its communities. Award winners exemplify MORPC’s continued dedication to address issues that transcend community boundaries and stimulate visionary thinking.

The William C. Habig Collaborative Achievement Award recognizes individuals who have achieved an effective effort and/or innovative collaborative in the region.  The award was created, in 2006, in honor of William C. Habig, who served as MORPC’s Executive Director for 34 years. The honoree(s) will have demonstrated success in developing a specific initiative or entity that addressed key challenges facing the region.

The William H. Anderson Award recognizes a current or past board member who exemplifies outstanding leadership, a vision for the community and the region, and commitment to MORPC. William H. Anderson, a longtime MORPC board member, was the epitome of a civic volunteer who is remembered for his zeal with which he championed MORPC's mission and goals

In 2015, Columbus Mayor Michael B. Coleman received the Regional Leadership Award.  Yaromir Steiner, CEO of Steiner + Associates and chair of the collaborative insight2050 initiative, received the William C. Habig Collaborative Achievement Award. And The William H. Anderson Excellence in Public Service Award went to Marsha Grigsby, City of Dublin.

Submissions for both awards will be reviewed by MORPC’s officers and executive director with a final determination to be made by the MORPC Executive Committee. For more information contact Ciel Klein at or 614.233.4102.
