Local experts will offer best practices and address the common mistakes people make when writing grants at an upcoming Regional Education Forum hosted at MORPC. Show Me the Money: Grant Writing and Funding Resources will take place on June 23 from 9a.m.-11a.m. and there is no registration fee. The forum will also provide important information on funding sources that are available in Ohio.

The event will commence with Michael Wilkos, the Senior Officer of Community Research and Grants Management at The Columbus Foundation. Wilkos will share insights into the best practices of grant writing.

Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) representatives Michelle May and Julie Walcoff will inform attendees of new funding resources that are available at ODOT.

Nate Vogt, MORPC’s Transportation Improvement Program Funding Manager, will speak on attributable funding applications. Under the oversight of the Attributable Funds Committee (AFC), MORPC conducts a process every two years to solicit applications for funding, evaluate the proposed projects, and commit funds to those selected. The AFC then recommends a program of projects for approval by MORPC's Board.

The event will conclude with a presentation by MORPC’s Membership Coordinator Eileen Leubey about useful grant resource information.
