Aug. 10, 2017

Terri Flora has started as MORPC’s new director of public and government affairs.

Flora brings to MORPC her experience in corporate communications, public relations, customer engagement and regulatory affairs. She most recently served as communications director for AEP Ohio, where she was responsible for the development of strategic communication and customer outreach plans. She began with American Electric Power in 1991, having held various positions with increasing responsibility throughout her career.

“We’re excited to have Terri come on board and work with us in serving communities across Central Ohio,” MORPC Executive Director William Murdock said. “She has an impressive skillset with proven results, and I know she will help raise MORPC’s public policy and communications efforts to an elevated level.”

The director of public & government affairs serves as the agency's chief communications officer and leads the agency’s government affairs, membership and advocacy program. This senior-level position also provides support throughout the agency and to local governments on related initiatives, public policy and collaborative efforts.

“I look forward to joining an organization that is foundational to the development of our communities, the region and Ohio,” Flora said. “MORPC’s proven track record and its collaborative focus on making this region successful is impressive and just several of the many reasons why I am excited to be a part of this effort.”

Flora is a graduate of the University of Dayton with a degree in public relations. She and her family reside in the City of Gahanna.
