Energy Efficiency

MORPC offers expert service and repair improving home energy efficiency using the latest technology.  Services offered include assessment and repair/replacement of electric appliances and light fixtures as well as gas appliances including furnaces, water heaters, and gas cook stoves. Keeping the environment and safety in mind, MORPC helps reduce energy consumption and, consequently, energy bills. Our clients average a 23 percent reduction in energy bills, which can add up to around $325 per year in savings. Since 1988 MORPC has helped 10,321 families keep their homes warm and safe.  Click here to view a map of all homes serviced.

These services are FREE to income-eligible clients thanks to funding from the Ohio Department of Development Office of Energy Efficiency’s Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP), Electric Partnership Program and Columbia Gas of Ohio’s WarmChoiceTM Program. Do I Qualify? 
To be eligible you must rent or own a home in Franklin County and your total household income during the preceding 12 months must be equal to or less than 150 percent of the federal poverty guidelines.  If a household is on the Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP), they would automatically qualify.  Income is based on the 12 months prior to application.

Energy Efficiency Showcase

MORPC's annual Energy Efficiency Showcase features the best energy conservation program in Ohio – MORPC’s Center for Energy & Environment. This annual event takes you inside a client's home so that you can see first-hand the incredible work of MORPC’s staff and partners. The event is open for interested guests and the media.

This year's event was held on October 20th.  Thank you to Channel 4, 6 and 10 for coverage of the event, Columbia Gas and Ohio Department of Energy Efficieny for funding repairs for low-income homes, and Commissioner Marilyn Brown and Council Member Charleta Tavares for speaking.
