Energy Efficiency
Look for MORPC vehicles in your neighborhood! Through a process known as weatherization, MORPC's Residential Energy Efficiency staff are visiting local neighborhoods to offer expert service and improve home energy efficiency for qualified homeowners. Services include assessment and repair or replacement of electric appliances and light fixtures as well as gas appliances including furnaces, water heaters, and gas cook stoves. Keeping the environment and safety in mind, MORPC helps reduce energy consumption and, consequently, energy bills. Our clients average a 23 percent reduction in energy bills, which can add up to around $325 per year in savings. Since 1988 MORPC has helped over 10,000 families keep their homes warm and safe. These services are FREE to income-eligible clients thanks to funding from the Ohio Department of Development Office of Community Services' Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP), American Electric Power's Electric Partnership Program and Columbia Gas of Ohio’s WarmChoiceTM Program. Do I Qualify?
To be eligible you must rent or own a home in Franklin County and your total household income during the preceding 12 months must be equal to or less than 150-200 percent of the federal poverty guidelines. If a household is on the Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP), they would automatically qualify. Income is based on the 12 months prior to application.
