Youth Advisory Council
Much of the work done at the Center for Energy & Environment is done with future generations in mind. Offering a valuable experience for central Ohio Students, MORPC is soliciting nominations for its Youth Advisory Council.
Without being inhibited by political parameters, perceived limitations, and financial restrictions, youth have the freedom to add a new perspective to the way we plan our community. Typically, meetings will be held during the school day at the MORPC offices requiring school and guardian permission. There will also be a few special meetings to be held at partner locations including American Electric Power and Franklin County offices. Juniors and seniors will be invited to remain on the Council until they have gone onto post-high school endeavors. Throughout the program, students will be asked to weigh in on important environmental issues facing our region, learn how governments are responding to those challenges today, and be introduced to environmental career paths for its Youth Advisory Council.
We truly believe the Youth Advisory Council is mutually beneficial to MORPC, the students, and of course, the long term vitality of our community. In order for this collaboration to work, we need your help. Please provide your nomination for an outstanding youth (grades 11-12) below or pass this request onto a school administrator who can help.
