Our Organization
MORPC membership includes 44 local governments who represent over 1.6 million citizens in the region. Our member governments appoint their elected officials and/or staff to serve as their representatives and, under the leadership of elected Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary, constitute the board of MORPC. A staff of about 66 full-time employees, led by the Executive Director, carries out the agency’s policies and programs.
For over 60 years, MORPC has been addressing challenges and opportunities associated with growth and development in central Ohio as well as working with our members to improve the quality of life within the region. Organizations such as MORPC are created to work for the overall improvement of the region, discuss regional issues and develop collaborative partnerships to address regional issues.
MORPC also serves as the federally-designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for Franklin, Delaware and portions of Fairfield and Licking counties. In this role, MORPC develops regional plans and policies to enhance mobility, reduce congestion and meet air quality standards.
