This map was created to help bicyclists determine which roads are better suited for their level of riding expertise in the Greater Franklin County area.  The roads are colored coded like a traffic signal with green as “Easy”, yellow as “Moderate, and red as “Difficult”.  The map is the result of a collaborative effort between MORPC, the City of Columbus, the Franklin County Engineers Office, Consider Biking, and COTA. Contact MORPC for information about obtaining a printed map.

This map shows locations of existing, expected, and recommended bicycle facilities in Delaware and Franklin counties, Bloom and Violet townships in Fairfield County, and Pataskala in Licking County. (This is the official MORPC transportation planning area.) It is based on the current regional bikeway plan that was adopted by MORPC 2006.

Image of Transporataion Plan for Interactive Map Capital Ways: 2008-2030 Transportation Plan Project Location Map

CapitalWays is the long range transportation plan for central Ohio. The map includes transportation projects anticipated to occur by the year 2030 that will use federal transportation funds. The plan was developed by MORPC. An updated plan is being developed for 2012. Also, see the list of unmapped projects and read the complete plan.

Base year (2010) and Forecast year (2035) data by Traffic Analysis Zone (TAZ). This is the official land use data used in MORPC’s 2012 Metropolitan Transportation Plan. Among the variables, data include population, households, labor force, median income, and employment by TAZ.

Population, households and employment and land uses for years 2010 and 2035 by 1⁄4 mile grid. The 2010 and 2035 information are also shown in aggregate as jurisdictions and Columbus City planning areas. Information is available for the MORPC travel demand modeling area geography.
  Regional Census Results

Using this map, you can see how the population of Central Ohio has changed over the past decade by comparing 2000 and 2010 Census Block Groups.
  Population and Employment Forecasts by Place

This map shows summaries of population, household, and employment estimates, including forecasts to 2035 by Place. Places in Central Ohio include Cities, Villages, and Townships, as well as Columbus Planning Areas.
