MORPC Member Population Estimates

1990 - Present

MORPC makes annual population estimates for the member governments for the purpose of dues assessments. The estimates are adopted by the commission after each community has had an opportunity to review them. Estimates for communities in Delaware County, with the exception of Delaware City, are provided by the Delaware County Regional Planning Commission. The estimation method is based on new housing units. New population is assigned to new housing units, and then added to the previous year's estimate. The new population is calculated by applying vacancy rates and population per households, unique to each community as reported by the US Census Bureau. MORPC staff works with the member governments to determine new housing units within each community. On US Census years, the census figure is used as the population base for building subsequent population estimates.

You can view the population and household estimates at the sub-county level, as well as totals for the communities, as some communities are in multiple counties.
