MORPC Land Use Data

MORPC is in the process of updating the Regional Transportation Plan. This planning tool is the blueprint for spending federal and state transportation dollars in central Ohio. It is updated on a four year cycle. The horizon year is 2030 and the plan is due to be completed and adopted in the spring of 2008.

One of the basic steps of the plan is the preparation of future land use data used in the travel demand model that is used to estimate future traffic volumes. The model results are used in determing transportation projects to be included in the plan. The land use data is a primary data set for this model. Land use forecasts developed for the plan were developed with local input and guidance and adopted by the Mid Ohio Regional Planning Commission Policy Committee in April of 2006.
