Jurisdiction Boundary Maps


 Delaware County TAZs: Traffic Analysis Zones or "TAZ" are the geography MORPC uses in its Travel Demand Model used to estimate future traffic. This is the base geography that population, households, and employment is forecast by MORPC. TAZ boundaries follow roads, rivers or railroads. The size is also based on how much traffic might be generated or attracted to the TAZ.

 Pickaway County Census Tracts: Census Tracts are geographic units determined by the US Census for reporting demographic data. Each census tract has approximately 4,000 people. 
 Union County Census Tracts: Census Tracts are geographic units determined by the US Census for reporting demographic data. Each census tract has approximately 4,000 people. 
 Census Urbanized Area: An urbanized area is a geographical reporting unit of the US Census Bureau. They must have a central city of 50,000 people that is then connected to densely populated areas. There are 2 Urbanized Areas in Central Ohio . The Columbus Urbanized area has a population of 1.1 million people. The Newark Urbanized Area has a population of 70,000. They are used in allocating Federal funds.
 
 Transportation Planning Area: The MORPC Transportation Planning Area is the official boundaries of the Columbus Metropolitan Planning Area Study, otherwise known as the Columbus MPO, or the transportation planning area of MORPC. This is the area in which MORPC can allocate transportation dollars. The boundary is based off of the Urbanized Area boundary. The Newark Urbanized Area has a similar organization to MORPC for allocating federal transportation dollars in Licking County .

 Sanitary Sewer Service Areas: This complex map is a display of the many sanitary sewer providers in central Ohio . Some districts are very small and include only the incorporated area of a particular community. Some are very large and include areas that can potential be served. Some service areas are municipal, some are county, and some are township based.
