MORPC Rated Number One among MPOs for Nationally Recognized Complete Streets Policies

(Columbus – April 28, 2011) The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC)’s Complete Streets Policy has been named among the top scoring policies of its kind by the National Complete Streets Coalition in a new report, Complete Streets Policy Analysis 2010: A Story of Growing Strength. The report rates more than 200 state and local written policies according to the Coalition’s established 10 elements of ideal Complete Streets policies. MORPC’s Complete Streets Policy is rated number one among metropolitan planning organization (MPO) policies and is also recognized in the categories of strong intent and jurisdiction. MORPC’s transportation planning area in central Ohio consists of Delaware and Franklin counties, Bloom and Violet townships in Fairfield County, Etna Township and the city of Pataskala in Licking County.
