The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) was honored by The National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) with the 2011 Innovation Award for their outstanding development of the Franklin County Location Based Response System (LBRS). The LBRS is a countywide digital centerline, possessing current road and address data for emergency response services and for other road maintenance programs. Partners funding the project include: the Central Ohio Transit Authority, County 911, Ohio Department of Public Safety, Ohio Department of Transportation and MORPC. Previous to the establishment of the LBRS, individual agencies and jurisdictions were updating their files in silos and had to wait for quarterly releases of countywide data, so that current information outside of their own jurisdictions was not available on-demand.
