Candidates Forum with Cordray, DeWine Taking Place in Columbus

    June 7, 2018

Political, business, and civic leaders are encouraged to register for the Ohio Association of Regional Councils’ (OARC’s) 2018 Candidates Forum, which will feature the state’s Republican and Democratic candidates for governor.

MORPC is one of 24 regional agencies that serve as OARC members. Collectively, these peer organizations serve more than 1,500 municipalities, villages, townships and counties across the state.

As OARC’s members work to create solutions and serve as a regional forum for shared challenges, they are also an integral part in helping executive agencies at the state level implement their programs and policies at the local level. Because of this, OARC is very aware of how public policy can influence the prosperity and future of Ohio communities.

The 2018 Candidates Forum will offer hundreds of Ohioans with an interest in planning and development – whether personally or professionally – the opportunity to hear from the gubernatorial candidates about their platforms related to transportation, infrastructure, job creation, and economic development.

Both Richard Cordray, the Democratic candidate for governor, and Mike DeWine, the Republican candidate for governor have committed to attend the Columbus event. They will each speak about their platforms, followed by a half-hour question-and-answer session.

Between the gubernatorial candidates, attendees will have lunch and be treated to a panelist session, including keynote speaker Darrell Wilson, assistant vice president of government relations for the Norfolk Southern Corporation.

The 2018 Candidate Forum will take place 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10 at the Hilton Downtown Columbus. Those wishing to attend can register here.
