Delaware-Franklin Staff Summit

For more than a decade, the southern Delaware County and northern Franklin County area has been among the fastest-growing areas in central Ohio, the state and even the nation. Accommodating this rapid growth has been complicated by the large number of agencies responsible for land use planning and delivering public services to residents in the area.
As development began to boom in this area in the late 1980s, the need for governments to cooperate became clear. In 1990, MORPC began convening a forum for township, municipal, county and state officials to discuss plans and projects that maintain the area's quality of life. These meetings, facilitated by MORPC, continue on a regular basis and are known as the Delaware-Franklin Staff Summit meetings.
The meetings provide a forum for engineering, planning and administrative staff from the different communities and agencies to raise and address issues. Participants are encouraged to share information about their plans and projects involving land use, transportation, utilities, parks and other issues. Recent regular participants include representatives of townships, villages, cities, counties, the Central Ohio Transit Authority, Metro Parks and the Ohio Department of Transportation’s District 6 office.
