Foreclosures

Residential foreclosures have been a growing crisis. Ohio has been one of the hardest hit states, and central Ohio has shared in the suffering. Since 2004, 14,600 homes have been foreclosed upon. This represents approximately 2 percent of the housing stock, or 1 out of every 48 homes.  There are a number of agencies working on addressing this issue. The former Franklin County Treasurer, and now State Treasurer, Richard Cordray, is a leader in this effort. The work he began locally in Franklin County has been carried forth to the state level under the Save the Dream program.
