TRAC

2017 Funding Cycle: The Transportation Review Advisory Council (TRAC) of the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has accepted Major/New Project applications for their 2017 project selection round. Major/New Projects are transportation projects that have a total project cost greater than $12 million and “which add transportation capacityor reduce congestion, and are critical to the mobility, economic development, and quality of life of the citizens of Ohio.” This definition includes all new interchanges proposed for economic development or local access, any significant interchange modifications, bypasses, general purpose lane additions, intermodal facilities, major transit facilities, or Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).

As part of the TRAC project selection process, ODOT requests that metropolitan planning organizations provide local input by prioritizing the project applications that fall within the transportation planning organization (MPO) area. Three projects were submitted to TRAC that are within the MORPC MPO area. Click on 2017 Applications below to see a summary sheet for each project.

Please provide comments or any additional information to set the priorities, including advantages and/or disadvantages of particular projects. MORPC will review and consider comments during the prioritization. We anticipate recommending regional priorities for adoption during the October business meetings (starting October 2 with the Community Advisory Committee). These priorities will be transmitted to TRAC at a public hearing on October 12.

Please send comments in writing to the attention of Dina López, Transportation Systems & Funding, Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission, 111 Liberty Street, Suite 100, Columbus, Ohio, 43215, fax (614-233-0750), or e-mail dlopez@morpc.org to arrive by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2017.

TRAC will be issuing a draft projects list in December 2017, and will finalize the 2017 TRAC projects list in February 2018.

Previous Funding Cycle: ODOT’s Transportation Review Advisory Council (TRAC) met on December 14, 2016 and approved the draft list of projects selected for the 2016 funding cycle.  All projects submitted for TRAC funding in central Ohio received funding.
