NW FRANKLIN COUNTY AREA STUDY
In the early 2000’s the northwest part of Franklin County like many other areas around the outerbelt was experiencing a great deal of growth. Although Dublin and Hilliard encompass most of the land in this area, Columbus has reserved a narrow growth corridor between Dublin and Hilliard.
Within this corridor, land had been annexed into Columbus. In mid-2003 the rezoning requests and development proposals were submitted to Columbus for these areas. Due to their close proximity to other jurisdictions, there were concerns about the regional long-term mobility of the area.
Representatives from Columbus, Franklin County, Dublin, Hilliard and Washington Township agreed to analyze the long-term mobility issues of the northwest area with the Northwest Franklin County Area Study.
