Planning Work Program
MORPC's Planning Work Program (PWP) is an annual publication covering the MPO's work plan, structure, and financial status. The document contains useful information about the MPO's work in the region, including a description of the planning work and resulting products, who will perform the work, time frames for completing the work, the cost of the work, and the source(s) of funds. An eight-digit code identifies each work element.
As an example, consider work element 60112-001, Short-Range Multimodal Transportation Planning, in the 2012 PWP. The PWP includes a description of this work element; the work element's products and methods; the agencies performing the work; the work schedule; related activities; and the amount budgeted to this work element. Appendix A, MORPC Structure, contains a chart of MPO staff members who may be performing this work.
The PWP fulfills the specific MPO documentation requirement known as the unified planning work program (UPWP) (codified in 23 CFR 450.308).
