Planning Work Program
MORPC's Planning Work Program (PWP) is an annual publication covering the MPO's work plan, structure, and financial status. The document contains useful information about the MPO's work in the region, including a description of the planning work and resulting products, who will perform the work, time frames for completing the work, the cost of the work, and the source(s) of funds. A five-digit code identifies each work element.
As an example, consider work element 60109, Short-Range Multimodal Transportation Planning. The PWP includes this work element's purpose; previous activities supporting this work element; the methodology by which staff will complete this work element; the final products; and the amount budgeted to this work element. While not specifically identified, Appendix A, MORPC Structure, contains a chart of MPO staff members who may be performing this work. Appendix F, Executive Summary, presents this work element's milestones. Appendix D, Financial Information, contains the sources of funds for the work element.
The PWP fulfills the specific MPO documentation requirement known as the unified planning work program (UPWP) (codified in 23 CFR 450.308).
