A new report conducted by Scioto Analysis and the Affordable Housing Alliance of Central Ohio finds that Central Ohio residents who choose duplex homeownership can earn or save nearly $1.3 million over their lives, making this traditional housing style a powerful pathway for financial freedom. This session will provide a comprehensive overview of the results, including the secondary role that “missing middle” housing can play in planning for a sustainable retirement, lowering the cost of higher education, and promoting economic development and workforce readiness. Attendees will also explore a parallel mapping project that assesses Central Ohio’s duplex landscape and a community action plan developed by external stakeholders to close preparedness gaps.

TRANSIT: Please be aware road construction may affect your commute. The I-70 eastbound ramp to Fulton Street and the Front Street bridge are now open. Reconstruction has begun on the High Street bridge over I-70. One lane in each direction will remain open on High Street throughout the two-year construction period.
