Franklin County Transportation Improvement District Applies for Grants from ODOT

Cornell Robertson, Chair of The Franklin County Transportation Improvement District (FCTID) is excited to announce the application of five projects to Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) Jobs and Commerce for additional funding only available to TIDs certified by the State of Ohio. These are critical and essential infrastructure projects that will provide for safe and efficient movement of people and goods within our region. These projects also highlight the Franklin County Transportation Improvement District’s outstanding Central Ohio partnerships and collaboration.

University Boulevard within the City of Dublin: This project constructs a new 4‐lane roadway between Eiterman Road and Avery Road, utilizing a portion of the existing Shier Rings Road alignment. Improvements associated with the project include intersection modifications at Shier Rings Road and Avery Road, as well as the construction of four modern roundabouts along University Boulevard to facilitate further economic development. Project partners include the FCTID, the City of Dublin, and The Ohio State University.

Alum Creek Drive and Rohr Road Intersection: This project will construct a traditional signalized intersection, including the addition of dual southbound left‐turn lanes, a westbound right-turn lane, and two eastbound lanes on Rohr Road from Alum Creek Drive to Port Road. Project partners include FCTID, the Franklin County Engineer’s Office, the City of Columbus, the City of Groveport, Ohio Public Works Commission, and private developers.

Toy Road, Swisher Road, Saltzgaber Road Improvement Project: This project includes road maintenance and drainage improvements along Toy Road and Swisher Road. Additionally, the project will widen and reconstruct Saltzgaber Road, as well as, add turn lanes on Groveport Road at its intersection with Saltzgaber Road. Project partners include FCTID, the Franklin County Engineer’s Office, the City of Groveport, Ohio Public Works Commission, Madison Township, and a private developer.

Rohr Road and State Route 317: This project will convert the existing signalized intersection to a modern roundabout with lighting. This improvement addresses existing safety and operational concerns. Project partners include the FCTID, the Franklin County Engineer’s Office, the City of Groveport, and the Ohio Department of Transportation.

Lockbourne Road and State Route 317: This project will convert the existing two‐way stop‐controlled intersection to a modern roundabout with lighting. This improvement addresses existing safety and operational concerns. Project partners include the FCTID, the Franklin County Engineer’s Office, the Ohio Department of Transportation, and a private developer.
