Franklin County Township Additions are MORPC’s 93rd and 94th Member Communities
The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission is pleased to welcome Hamilton and Norwich townships as its newest member communities, effective immediately.
The addition will further strengthen the region’s collaborative approach to planning and development. The Commission voted on and approved the townships’ memberships on Thursday, February 12.
Hamilton Township’s population in the unincorporated area is about 4,560 residents while Norwich Township’s population is about 4,110 residents in the unincorporated area.
Hamilton Township is located in southern Franklin County while Norwich Township is located in western Franklin County, just on the outskirts of the Columbus suburb of Hilliard.
The townships join a growing number of communities and are the 19th and 20th Townships in MORPC that are working together to advance shared regional goals in transportation, housing, sustainability and economic and development.

MORPC membership provides the townships with access to MORPC’s data, technical assistance, educational forums, and funding opportunities for local projects. The townships will also have a representative serving as a voting member on the MORPC commission, which meets regularly to guide the agency’s strategic direction.
