Save the Date: OPERS at MORPC
A special Mid-Ohio Finance Administrators meeting on Jan. 28 at the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) will feature the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS).
Tuesday, January 28, 2020
11:45 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.
Representatives will provide an update on OPERS’ current pension and health care funding, as well as the board of trustees’ recent decisions on how to address challenges to maintaining adequate funding levels.
The presentation will focus largely on OPERS’ pursuit of legislative changes to alter the cost-of-living-adjustment (COLA), future health care changes, and a potential new tier benefit structure for future new hires. Finance staffers are encouraged to bring along their colleagues who work in human resources.
The Mid-Ohio Finance Administrators (MOFA) meeting is a quarterly forum of finance officers and administrators from MORPC-member local governments. The format consists of guest speakers and roundtable discussions. It also provides an excellent opportunity to network with peers.
The cost to attend will be $15 to cover lunch. CPE (continuing professional education) certificates are also available.
