CENTRAL OHIO BLUEWAYS
Central Ohio has over 100 miles of waterways to paddle through its five largest streams; Big Darby Creek, Scioto River, Olentangy River, Alum Creek, and Big Walnut Creek. These streams abut public parks, and provide a top-of-the-class paddling experience.
Currently, Central Ohio Blueways is focusing on bringing neighboring jurisdictions, parks districts, advocacy groups, and others together to work towards obtaining Water Trail designation through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). Water Trail designation will communicate a commitment to equitable paddling experiences in Central Ohio and will assist in procuring the funding available to better sign and provide information on paddling resources along the designated segments.
