Keynote
Councillor John Barth, City of Indianapolis
John Barth became District 7’s Councillor in 2019. Councillor John Barth is a fifth-generation resident of Indianapolis and has long history of community volunteerism in the city. Barth continues his long service as a board member of Butler-Tarkington Neighborhood Association, serves on the Art for Neighborhood Board, and on the Executive Committee of the Indy Reads Board.
John was elected as an at-large member of the Indianapolis City/County Council in November 2011 and served as Council Vice President from 2013-2015. Re-elected in 2019, John represents District 7 on the Council in its current term.
Through Barth’s leadership, the City has updated its Complete Streets ordinance, launched a Fatal Crash Review Commission, established Greenway Crossing Zones to make street crossings on greenways safer, among many other critical efforts toward building greater mobility for all Indianapolis residents.

Brittany Shoots-Reinhard
Research Assistant Professor in the Psychology Department at The Ohio State University.
Brittany is a Research Assistant Professor in the Psychology Department. She completed her B.S. in psychology and Ph.D. in social psychology from Ohio State. Her research interests include judgment and decision making, attitudes and persuasion, and motivation. Brittany’s current research includes projects focused on the psychology of driving as well as general road user behavior. Her research has helped inform local and statewide efforts to curb distracted driving and other dangerous driving habits.
Harvey Miller
Professor of Geography and Director of the Center for Urban and Regional Analysis at The Ohio State University.
Harvey is the Bob and Mary Reusche Chair in Geographic Information Science, Professor of Geography, and Director of the Center for Urban and Regional Analysis at The Ohio State University. He is also a Courtesy Professor of City and Regional Planning, an affiliate of the Translational Data Analytics Institute and a member of the advisory board of the Sustainability Institute at Ohio State University, and a faculty affiliate of the Center for Injury Research and Policy at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
John Bolte
Professor in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and Director of the Injury Biomechanics Research Center (IBRC) at The Ohio State University.
John is a Professor in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. In 2022, he was named Assistant Dean for Research for the School of Rehabilitation Sciences. He also serves as the Director of the Injury Biomechanics Research Center (IBRC), a leader in the field of injury biomechanics, and is an expert in the experimental analysis of human injury tolerance and mechanisms under numerous loading conditions.
