MORPC is pleased to announce the third workshop for the 2022 Rural Forum Series. All member and nonmember communities rural, urban, and suburban are welcome to attend!
TOPIC: Hometown Revitalizations – Happen Here
Experience the revitalized City of Bellefontaine, located in the heart of Logan County Ohio. Like many Ohio legacy Cities, this community suffered sizeable population decline during the wave of job losses at former stable manufacturing companies. Young families left for urban spaces and signature retail stores closed. Through sheer determination, a movement begins and changes the trajectory of this City.
AGENDA:
10:00 a.m. Welcome and introductions – Loco Depot
10:15 a.m. Small Group Tours will view successful co-working spaces; popular retail, upper floor residential units, and enhanced infrastructure. Our tour guides will share how they overcame the challenges of acquiring buildings, revitalization, and fueled the local economy.
11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. Lunch at 600 Pizza Place. Presenters will cover updates on regional strategies to support economic development and Jason Duff, Small Nation CEO and Founder, will discuss the key factors to generate hometown success.
Advanced Reservations are required.
