The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission invites commission board members to meet key leaders to share their insights on current issues that impact our region’s sustainability. We are delighted to announce the featured speaker for May is Dr. Hugh Sherman, President of Ohio University.
Through a strong partnership with Ohio University, MORPC members gain access to a wide series of benefits. The OU Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service supports economic development, elected official training, and provides scholarships to Appalachian communities for OU graduates and undergraduates to gain career building summer internships through the MORPC Local Government Summer Internship Program. The partnership expanded to include a robust inaugural “DATA DAY” event held on the OU Dublin Campus on March 1, 2023 and OU subject matter experts serve on task forces and special committees such as the MORPC Sustainability Advisory Council.
Dr. Hugh Sherman was named the 22nd President of Ohio University on May 27, 2021. A respected and innovative leader, Dr. Sherman has dedicated his career to helping students succeed during their time at OHIO and in their professional lives. We look forward to learning more from his life’s work which includes 20 years in the business world and 28 years in higher education.
