MORPC Receives Financial Reporting Award

    February 6, 2020
    Recognized for 31st consecutive year

The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). The award recognizes MORPC’s comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) for FY 2018 and marks the 31st consecutive year MORPC has received the distinction.

“Our annual financial report serves as a snapshot of MORPC’s accomplishments in a given year. It also adds another level of transparency for the public and for our local government members to see how our financial resources are being put to good use.”
    MORPC Executive Director William Murdock

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

The CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.

“MORPC has a very dedicated finance team, with many years of professional experience. Our team works hard to do things the right way, and this recognition reaffirms the good work we are doing.”
    MORPC Finance Director Susan Tsen
