Recognized for 32nd consecutive year
The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. The award recognizes MORPC’s comprehensive annual financial report for FY 2019 and marks the 32nd consecutive year MORPC has received the distinction.
“Our annual financial report serves as a snapshot of MORPC’s accomplishments in a given year. It also adds another level of transparency for the public and for our local government members to see how our financial resources are leveraged to impact Central Ohio.”
MORPC Executive Director William Murdock
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
The financial report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.
“MORPC has a very dedicated finance team, with many years of professional experience. Our team works hard to do things the right way, and this recognition reaffirms the good work we are doing.”
MORPC Finance Director Susan Tsen
