Transportation projects eligible for nearly $2.4 million in funding
[COLUMBUS, OH, July 1, 2025] – The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) and the Central Ohio Rural Planning Organization (CORPO) will open an application round for the state fiscal year 2026-2027 CORPO Dedicated Funds Program on Monday, July 7. The program supports transportation projects from eligible local public agencies located within CORPO’s member counties.
The two-year funding cycle will make $2.4 million available in the funding program for fiscal years 2026-2027.
MORPC has partnered with seven counties in the nonmetropolitan areas of the Central Ohio region to provide transportation planning products and services in CORPO. The seven counties that make up CORPO are Fairfield, Knox, Madison, Marion, Morrow, Pickaway, and Union.
“We are excited that the state transportation budget continued the funding for rural transportation planning organizations like CORPO. These funds are severely needed to maintain and improve the transportation system for our rural members.”
MORPC Transportation Director, Maria Schaper
Funds may be used for construction, expansion, reconstruction, preliminary engineering, right of way or preservation of roads and bridges on any public road. Funds may also be used for capital costs for public transit and bus terminals, bicycle and pedestrian facilities and other transportation-related activities.
