This powerful film odyssey across America explores the change in our national attitude from pride in big dams as engineering wonders to the growing awareness that our future is bound to the life and health of our rivers.

Organizations to be featured during the reception include MORPC, the Sierra Club, The Ohio State University School of Environment & Natural Resources, the Ohio Environmental Council, Franklin Soil & Water Conservation District, Columbus Metro Parks, Blueprint Columbus, Olentangy Paddle, and the Friends of the Lower Olentangy Watershed.

During the reception, register to win a kayak or canoe trip for two with Olentangy Paddle. The winner will be announced after the film screening. No purchase necessary to register.

Animal ambassadors from COSI’s Wild Experience will be present during the reception to highlight the need for healthy riparian habitats to support wildlife diversity.

The film will be followed by a panel discussion exploring the impact of low-head dams on river ecosystems, with a specific focus on the Main Street dam removal and the Scioto Greenways Project.
