Pre-Purchase Education
MORPC offers free classes for parties interested in purchasing a home. Group Sessions are offered in the following topics: Credit/Budgeting; Home Inspection/Home Insurance; Realtor/Mortgage/ Predatory Lending; and Home Repair & Maintenance. To receive certification, clients must complete all four sessions. However, you can take one of the four required sessions at a time and complete other sessions in later months.

One-on-One Counseling
MORPC provides one-on-one counseling for people who are considering purchasing a home. MORPC’s staff will assist people with creating a realistic budget, reviewing their credit report and determining their affordability. This is great for people interested in preparing for homeownership before they see a lender. It is also for individuals who may be in threat of default and need to readjust their budget to prepare for impending adjustable rate changes. Default/Foreclosure Counseling
MORPC provides resources for families who are currently in default or in threat of foreclosure. Certified counselors can work with you and your lender to negotiate a solution to your delinquency. MORPC also offers financial assistance to eligible families to assist in bringing the mortgage current.

Financial Literacy
MORPC provides free financial literacy training classes using the www.yourmoneycounts.com
curriculum as offered by HSBC-North America. MORPC and HSBC have partnered to provide free literacy workshops for people that have been homeless or at risk of being homeless with free financial literacy workshops.
