MORPC, as the MPO, is required to include bicycle and pedestrian planning in the 20 year Transportation Plan. A regional bikeway plan and map is incorporated into the Metropolitan Transportation Plan. MORPC coordinates the Walk to School efforts in our region. MORPC also coordinates the local bicycle and pedestrian counts, held as part of the National Bicycle and Pedestrian Documentation Project. Bicycle and pedestrian planning are part of MORPC’s Active Transportation and Safety Section.
