As part of the 2023 Riverfest celebration, MORPC in collaboration with its partners, will be hosting a panel discussion focused on the region’s activities in accelerating change for preserving and maintaining clean water while meeting the region’s needs. Access to clean water is a human right, however its sustenance and provision is dependent on all. The discussion will highlight what some of our public service sectors, non-profit organizations, communities, and others are doing to ensure change around water quality, conservation, preservation, and access within Central Ohio.
The panel discussion will follow the opening of the Water is Life Exhibition at the Arts Center which exhibits artistic interpretations of the significance of water that can be viewed through the lens of history, culture, ecology, preservation, spirituality, and the role it plays in social justice issues intersecting indigenous rights, racial disparities, economic inequality, geographical politics and much more. Through art, the exhibits aim to raise awareness, inspire urgent action, and promote a stronger appreciation of the world’s most precious resource.
