[POSTPONED] Planning Together - Local Governments and Schools

MORPC is pleased to hold a lunch forum on the benefits of joint community planning with school districts and local governments.

The Central Ohio Region is expected to grow to over 3 million people by 2050. Through careful planning, community leaders can take necessary actions to preserve the quality of life and create a sustainable environment for future generations.

Join our conversation, led by Dr. Kerstin Carr, MORPC’s Chief Regional Strategy Officer and Senior Director of Planning, on how to create model joint planning with schools and local governments working together.

Dr. Jeff Vincent, our guest speaker, is the co-founder of the Center for Cities + Schools at the University of California. He has written and researched extensively on school infrastructure planning, sustainable communities, community development, housing policy, refugee resettlement, educational economics, joint use of schools and transportation policy.

The Center for Cities + Schools at UC conducts high-quality, non-partisan policy research, engages youth in urban planning, and cultivates collaboration between city and school leaders to strengthen all communities. CC+S works to advance policies and practices that create opportunity-rich places where young people can be successful in and out of school.

Ideal participants include local elected officials, school district representatives, local government planners and developers.

RSVPs are required. For more information, please contact Eileen Leuby, Membership Services Officer, eleuby@morpc.org 614-381-0111.
