The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) began the Leaders Listen survey series in 2023 out of a desire to hear directly from Central Ohio residents about their preferences and experiences in the region. Since that time, with the support of regional partners, MORPC has polled residents of our 15-county area on the topics of transportation, housing, economic development, and environmental sustainability.
In each case, we have obtained a geographically and demographically diverse sample of 2,000+ respondents. The insights drawn from these responses are shared with local leaders and planners to inform their work as they strive to best serve our communities and help the region to get better as it grows bigger.
We heard from more than 2,500 residents across our 15-county region. Survey participants shared their opinions on everything from biking and bus services, to proposed passenger rail and how they would like to see the region invest in transportation.

The fourth survey, Leaders Listen: Economic Development, focused and addressed topics such as jobs, the cost of living, childcare, built infrastructure, and utilities.
