Job Quality Standards
In May 2026, the Workforce Tracking Working Group produced a document describing five standards of job quality tailored for the Central Ohio region, namely living wage, comprehensive benefits, schedule predictability, safety and security management, and labor force engagement. The standards are presented as a set of one-page fact sheets and rely heavily on work by national thought leaders such as Results for America and prior art by similar groups working in other regions.
The standards were written by a group of professionals representing the public sector, private sector, and academia, with support from Results for America staff provided through their Workforce Fellowship program. The standards were peer reviewed by Central Ohio workforce professionals and are endorsed by the Regional Data Roundtable.
The standards are intended for use by Central Ohio institutions including but not limited to workforce development organizations, economic development organizations, and local governments. The document may be adopted for use as-is or may be adapted as required to suit the organization’s needs. It is the hope of the working group that organizations will use these fact sheets to engage with employers to achieve better outcomes for workers and employers alike.
