Funds To Help Preserve Central Ohio Green Spaces
The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) has announced the availability of approximately $13 million in grant funding through the Clean Ohio Conservation Fund to support environmental preservation and the protection of natural resources across Central Ohio.
This funding is divided between two distinct administrative districts, targeting the acquisition of green space and the enhancement of river and stream corridors.
District 3: Franklin County
Approximately $10 million is available for projects exclusively within Franklin County for Fiscal Year 2027. Local governments, park districts, and non-profit conservation organizations are encouraged to apply.

- Final Applications Due: August 28, 2026
District 17: Multi-County District
Approximately $3 million is available for Fiscal Year 2027 projects in Delaware, Union, Pickaway, Fairfield, Knox, and Licking counties. This funding supports regional efforts to link natural areas and provide public access to Ohio’s natural heritage.

The Clean Ohio Green Space Conservation Program is a competitive grant program administered by the Ohio Public Works Commission. Projects are evaluated by local Natural Resources Assistance Councils based on their ability to preserve natural areas, restore degraded landscapes, and enhance biodiversity.
