The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission is pleased to welcome Sharon Township to its ranks of local governments, effective immediately.
The full Commission voted on and approved the townships’ memberships on Thursday, March 12.
Sharon Township is in northern Franklin County and the township’s population in the unincorporated area is about 1,800.
MORPC membership provides the townships with access to MORPC’s data, technical assistance, educational forums, and funding opportunities for local projects. The township will also have a representative serving as a voting member on the MORPC commission, which meets regularly to guide the agency’s strategic direction.
“We are so happy to join the other Franklin County townships as members of MORPC. We look forward to participating in initiatives that help us improve the lives of our residents and neighbors.”
Laura Kunze, Vice Chair, Sharon Township Trustees
“We are proud to welcome Sharon Township to Central Ohio’s regional council. The addition ensures that the community – MORPC’s 21st township member - has a vital seat at the regional table as we plan for the future. The township also will now have direct access to the data, funding opportunities and technical assistance MORPC provides.”
William Murdock, MORPC Executive Director
