Sustainable2050 is a program that supports our member communities’ sustainability efforts through direct technical assistance, collaboration, and recognition.
We work with Sustainable2050 communities to benchmark their sustainability efforts and track their progress in achieving their sustainability goals and objectives. Our work with these communities gives us an understanding of how all efforts make a collective impact on the quality of life in Central Ohio.
Sustainable2050 is directly tied to the goals and objectives of the Regional Sustainability Agenda.
All MORPC members and prior Central Ohio Green Pact members are eligible to participate in Sustainable2050. It’s easy; adopt a resolution of participation, and then we can begin working together on your sustainability initiatives.

Community-Based Planning Assistance: The goal is to assist MORPC’s local government members with managing increased workloads and making it easier to access consultant services to conduct planning efforts. If you’re interested or in need of assistance, fill out the Assistance Request Form and we’ll get in touch with you to discuss your community’s needs, and how MORPC may be able to assist. SWACO Funding Opportunities: SWACO offers grant funding to support waste diversion, recycling, and education and outreach programs in Franklin County. More information can be found here.
Ohio EPA Financial Assistance: Ohio EPA has funding available for a wide variety of environmental projects such as helping communities plan and complete water and wastewater projects, promoting environmental education and reducing the impact of nonpoint source pollution. DKMM Solid Waste District Grants (Delaware, Knox, Marion, Morrow counties) – DKMM offers funding opportunities to reduce waste to the landfill. https://dkmm.org/grants/
Ohio Water Development Authority – OWDA provides financial assistance for water and environmental infrastructure projects. https://www.owda.org/
